What is freediving?
Do you think "freediving" is a sport?
In fact, any diving where you hold your breath is "freediving", and even skin diving, which you often hear about, is "freediving".
There are many reasons why people are interested in freediving, such as wanting to swim freely underwater with just their bodies, wanting to swim with dolphins, wanting to enjoy the underwater world without heavy scuba equipment, wanting to swim beautifully underwater and take impressive photos and videos, or wanting to enjoy it as a sport.
To do this, you need to take courses and acquire the necessary knowledge and skills.
What does the course involve?
The course consists of three parts: knowledge development, confined water (pool, etc.) training, and ocean training.
In knowledge development:
Using PADI Freediver eLearning (online teaching materials), you can learn the relationship between water pressure and the body, the effects of breath holding,
Learn about the diving environment and more.
In confined waters:
* Breathing before, during and after a dive
* Practice how to relax while holding your breath using the static apnea (1 minute 30 seconds), which is also a competitive event
* Buddy tips for static practice buddies
* Practice how to swim efficiently and beautifully underwater using the dynamic apnea (25m) event while maintaining the relaxation you have practiced in static swimming.
* How to buddy with a friend who is practicing dynamics
* And rescue practice in case something happens
In the marine session:
* Safe and proper weight adjustment
* Free immersion practice, which is easy to use for warming up before diving and checking ear equalization
* Practice using constant weight (10 meters) to learn how to dive in a relaxed state and dive smoothly to the desired depth with a dynamic and practiced swimming stroke.
* Buddy training with a constant weight training partner
* And rescue practice in case something happens
What are the conditions for participation?
There are no other requirements as long as you are over 12 years old.
However, those with experience in swimming, snorkeling, or scuba diving will find the course more enjoyable.
* Have you snorkeled multiple times?
* Can you float comfortably on the surface of the water?
* Can you clear the water from your snorkel and mask with your face submerged?
*Can you dive about 5 metres without equalising your ears?
If you answered "no" to any of these questions, we recommend that you try a skin diving session.
